Open House

Thanks to Chris Manuge for a job well done with organizing the Open House this year. Some new and many familiar faces were greeted by a group of friendly volunteers.

US Ladies Tour

Rhonda and Alice deserve a round of applause for hosting this terrific event. New friendships were made and both members and visitors provided some entertainment to spread good cheer.

Raffle Tickets

Great stocking stuffer idea! The sale of tickets supports Junior Curling. The draw is January 10, 2019 so time is getting short to sell the
remainder of tickets. Brian would appreciate your ticket stubs and cash ASAP.

Christmas Tree Gift Tags

The tree is decorated with Christmas tags with suggested gift ideas for the curling club. Your thoughtfulness is much appreciated.

Food Establishment Chairperson

We are looking for someone to take on this responsibility. Below is a description of this position. Please contact a board member if you are willing to do this task.

Duties of ACC Food Establishment Chairperson

  • Be the contact person for NS Environment Inspection, Compliance and Enforcement.
  • Complete the annual inspection renewal form every February. Display the Food Establishment Decal in a prominent
    place. (Expires on March 31 annually.)
  • Oversee and delegate cleanliness of the kitchen.
  • Ensure Health and Safety regulations are known and followed.
  • Send concerns to the ACC Board of Directors.
  • Keep a list of members with a valid food hygiene certificate.

Have you registered with the new Curling IO application, an online web-based tool used to accept curler registrations and accept online payments? If not, here’s how:

The link below will take you to the curling IO site. Find the “leagues” page for the Amherst Curling Club.

From there, login and create your curler profile.  After that, you can purchase memberships and lockers from the “products” page, and sign up for leagues from the “leagues” page.

Several curler profiles can be managed from one email account, making it convenient for youth and family curlers.

A very industrious group of curlers recently completed sixty feet of new walkway at the curling club. Looks great!

The Amherst Curling Club’s Fall General Meeting will be held
at the Curling Club on Wednesday, October 10th at 7:00 pm.

Cross Border League is Looking for more Teams

The Border League anticipates having one or more vacancies for the 2018/19 season, to reach the full complement of 16 teams, and will be accepting team applications until September 30.

To apply, a team must have at least four players who are full members of either Sackville or Amherst curling clubs.

The Border League season consists of a round robin portion from November until late February, and then playoffs involving all teams in two divisions that runs until late March.

An entry fee of $25 per player is collected at the beginning of curling, and includes admission to the year-end banquet.
